Good nutrition deserves good guidance.

Start with the right core diet.

Nature’s Nest has four core diets, each suited to different preferences and ways of eating. If you already know which one suits your bird, you’re ready to keep going. If you’re unsure, we’ll help you choose.

Avian Deluxe

Avian Softgrain
Your core diet is sorted

Now build the rest of the bowl.

Your Nature’s Nest core diet should make up at least 60% of the daily diet. That leaves up to 40% for suitable fresh foods, variety and complementary additions.

Foundation in place
60%
Make your Nature’s Nest core food at least 60% of the daily diet. This keeps the nutritional foundation consistent.
02 Thoughtful variety
40%

Then build around it

Use up to 40% for suitable fresh vegetables, fruit and other complementary foods. This is where you add variety around the balanced foundation.

01
Fresh vegetables Suitable fresh variety alongside the core diet.
02
Suitable fruit Another part of the complementary portion.
03
Treats and additions Count these within the 40% too.
Part of your 40%

Treats can fit here too.

Nature’s Nest treats can form part of the complementary 40%, alongside suitable fresh foods. Count them as part of that portion so the core diet remains the foundation.

Keep the balance clear. Treats sit inside the 40%, rather than being added on top of the full daily diet.

Changing to Nature’s Nest?

A new bowl can take a little time.

Birds can be very attached to familiar food. If your bird is unsure at first, that is normal. Introduce the new diet calmly and consistently, and give your bird time to recognise it as food.

01
Keep things familiar Keep the usual bowl and normal feeding routine while introducing the new food.
02
Give it time Some birds adjust quickly. Others need longer. Consistency matters more than speed.
03
Keep an eye on your bird Monitor weight and how your bird is responding while you make the change.
